It is a drug in the class of "proton pump inhibitors". It decreases acid secretion in the stomach. ESMOPRIN 40mg is used when oral reflux disease is not possible, in the short term, for the treatment of the following diseases: Adults: "Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). When stomach acid rises to the esophagus (the tube that connects the throat to the stomach) and causes pain, inflammation, and burning. "The treatment and prevention of ulcers associated with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
